Terms of service.
Last updated: 2026-06-18. Effective: 2026-06-18.
These terms govern your use of Maski. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service. In these terms, "Maski", "we", and "us" mean the service; "you" means the account holder.
The service
Maski is privacy-first email infrastructure. The product is forwarding only: you create aliases on a Maski-branded domain, mail addressed to those aliases is routed through Maski, and we forward it to the real inbox you've nominated.
Your account
You need an email address to sign up. You're responsible for keeping the credentials on that address secure, for keeping at least one recovery method active, and for any activity that takes place under your account. Notify us at hey@maski.dev if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction. Maski is not directed at children under 13, and anyone under the age of majority must have a parent or legal guardian's consent to use it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Maski to:
- Send, forward, or relay unsolicited bulk email or any other content that violates anti-spam law (CAN-SPAM, GDPR Art. 6, India IT Rules, or local equivalent).
- Receive or solicit content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, or facilitates abuse, harassment, or harm to a person.
- Distribute malware, phishing kits, or content designed to deceive a recipient about its origin.
- Probe, scan, or test the service's security without our written permission. (Coordinated disclosure is welcome — see Security.)
- Resell or sublicense the service to third parties without a written agreement.
- Circumvent quotas, rate limits, or plan boundaries.
- Use the service in a way that materially degrades it for other users.
We may suspend or terminate any account that we believe in good faith is being used in violation of this section. Where we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
Plans and limits
Plan limits, pricing, and what each plan includes are listed on the pricing page. Limits may change over time; the pricing page is always current.
The free tier is part of the product, not a trial. You can stay on it indefinitely.
Paid plans, billing, and cancellation
Paid plans are sold through Dodo Payments, who acts as the Merchant of Record for the transaction. Dodo handles tax (VAT, GST, sales tax), invoicing, refunds, and chargebacks. Your billing relationship for the charge itself is with Dodo; your service relationship is with Maski.
Auto-renewal. Paid plans renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for that plan, on the same payment method, until you cancel.
Cancellation. You can cancel from the Plan tab in your account at any time. Cancellation is effective at the end of the billing period already paid for — your access continues until then, and we don't bill you again.
Refunds. If something is wrong with a charge, write to us at hey@maski.dev as soon as you can, and no later than 30 days after the charge — that's the window Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, allows a refund to be initiated in, and we need time to review and initiate it on your behalf. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method; how long the amount takes to appear is set by your bank or card network, not by us. Refunds for the unused portion of a billing period are not generally provided once the period has begun, except where required by local law.
Price changes. We give at least 30 days' notice by email before changing the price of a plan you're already on. The change takes effect on your next billing period.
Promo codes and pilot grants. Maski may grant a Pro plan or a discount via a promotional code. Pilot grants have a defined window that's communicated when the grant is issued; at the end of the window, the account drops to free unless a paid plan is active.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if your payment method has failed and remains unresolved, or if a legal authority requires us to. We'll give you reasonable notice where we can, and we'll always let you export your data before deletion unless the law forbids it.
You may delete your account at any time from the Account page. Deletion is immediate and cascading; see the Privacy policy for the specifics.
Your content and our service
You retain all rights to the messages, addresses, and metadata you hand to Maski. You grant us a narrow, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and forward that content for the sole purpose of delivering the service to you. We do not use your content for advertising, training models, generating insights, or anything else outside that purpose.
The Maski software, brand, and infrastructure are ours. You don't acquire any rights to them by using the service.
No warranty
Maski is provided "as is" and "as available". Email is best-effort by nature: senders can misconfigure their mail servers, intermediate relays can fail, recipient providers can mark messages as spam, and we cannot guarantee that every message will be delivered. We work hard at deliverability and we publish what we do — see Security — but we make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maski's total liability to you under these terms in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period, or US $100. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, even if we knew they were possible.
Some jurisdictions don't allow limits on certain types of damages; the limits above apply only to the extent allowed where you are.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Maski against any third-party claim arising from your use of the service in violation of these terms or applicable law.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes go out by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the change; if you don't, cancel before then.
